I don’t play video games, I don’t have a twitter account, and I don’t send multimedia text messages. I’m more than happy for technology to just pass me by. Teenagers give me shit because I don’t play ‘Call of Duty’ and I can’t download Zombie movies – I couldn’t care less. I adhere only to technological advances that somehow benefit me. All of my friends and associates having constant access to my exact location does not, in any way, advantage me. I don’t mind having a phone that’s over 12 months old, or a hard drive that lacks the capacity to store 400 times more information than I could ever hope to use. Over the next decade there’s bound to be countless new technological shifts, and I’ll probably catch on to less than a handful, but I’ll be content, because on this date in 2022 I’ll still understand the function of a paperclip, a corkscrew, and a set of car keys.
