Why isn’t paper square? I find rectangular-shaped pieces more aesthetically pleasing, but perhaps that’s out of habit. Think of all the hours people have spent lining up paper to reload printers and photocopiers around the globe, consider the stress and worry that comes from deciding between landscape or portrait formats, and, most importantly, imagine the ease at which one could drift randomly into an origami folding frenzy, without having to perform the initial cross crease and cut.
