When my friend Tom came by last week he just wouldn’t shut up about some hot girl he’d passed on the way round. He’d been too intimidated to look her in the face, but he’d turned around to cheek her out once she’d passed. Unfortunately she’d caught him in the act; it was apparently more intimidating than the original conundrum. The following day a workmate related a similar story. She’d passed some hot guy while out for a walk the previous evening. When she turned around to get a better look, she’d been caught. Now I’m not the kind of person who goes around setting people up, but it would’ve been rude not to. I invited them both over for a drink that weekend. They didn’t hit it off at all – it was a complete flop. They both left after less than an hour, but not before things had become uncomfortable. I talked to my friend later in the week and told him why I’d organised the evening. Apparently it wasn’t the same girl at all. This situation obviously occurs more frequently than I’d imagined.
