__ Jayne could never find her keys, well not never, otherwise
it would’ve only happened once and never really come up again. But Jayne often
misplaced her keys. Her apartment wasn’t large or untidy but when the keys
weren’t on the kitchen bench, the place seemed like an endless shantytown.
Jayne would eventually find her keys in some random place like the microwave, the
washing basket, or the vanity unit. The strange thing about the elusive nature
of these keys is that it has absolutely nothing to do with Jayne. It is Jayne’s
ex-lover who is behind the key repositioning. He created a time machine and
regularly travels back in time to hide the set of keys. The ex-lover is trying
to send Jayne insane. It makes sense if you think about it: once you’ve become
rich and powerful, what else is there to do with a time machine?
This particular day Jayne awoke to find her keys lying on the kitchen bench. She considered the strange situation profoundly. It was a mystery. Jayne remembered that she wasn’t actually the last person to use the keys. A friend from L.A. who had been over for the weekend had borrowed them.
Now I know what you’re thinking, either, the ex-lover had a massive night and couldn’t be bothered travelling all the way back in time just to hide some keys, or, the ex-lover would only move the keys if they had been in Jayne’s possession. The truth is, the friend from L.A. had accidentally left Jayne’s keys in his pocket and taken them to California. The ex-lover felt sorry for Jayne – L.A. was just too far away. He retrieved the keys and returned them to Jayne’s kitchen bench. She was so perplexed by the conventional location of her keys that she immediatley checked herself into a mental institution.
