The huge costs involved in transporting people to the future made it almost impossible. Only a handful of great minds were brought forward each decade. In 2026, the year of science, physicist Albert Einstein was selected to make the journey. His insight into how the transportation device actually functioned was radical, and very much incorrect. Two years later philosopher Karl Marx joined the select group of time travellers. His analysis of the economic trends of last hundred years was interesting to say the least. In 2030 the art community made the surprise selection of Robert Delaunay. Essentially the disjointed nature of group meant that it was unable to agree on any of the more influential art figures; the French abstract artist met with much less resistance than Van Gogh or Monet. Delaunay’s only commentary on anything related to his field of expertise was related to his own abstract creation, ‘Premier Disque.’ “You’ve got it hanging sideways you fucking idiots,” he said, shaking his head; “you spend six million dollars on a picture that might as well be hanging back to front.”
