I tried to start an argument with my friend about resigning from work. “It’s harder to quit a job than break up with a long-term partner,” I said – I ’d obviously considered leaving my position recently; if I’d been having issues with my relationship I probably would’ve been of the counter contention.
“At the end of the day, regardless of whether you’re enjoying work or not, there’s some monetary reimbursement for your time,” he said. “In an unstable relationship you get nothing.”
Agreeing with me wholeheartedly caused the argument to die in the arse. We ended up talking about humidifiers.
