After a disastrous breakfast the other morning Joel really wanted to make it up to me. He took me out to a fancy club in the city. The place was actually quite nice; the music wasn’t fantastic, but the people were friendly and there were loads of attractive women. Joel and I sat and talked with this lovely group of girls for awhile. I was really hitting it off with a beautiful young woman in a green dress; at one point she even placed her hand on my leg. Two guys came over and asked if they could join our table; there wasn’t a lot of seating in the outdoor area. They discreetly entered our conversation, and, once the girls discovered they were doctors, stole our thunder. Joel was a little frustrated with the situation. His anger was caused by the shallowness of the girls; however, his outburst was directed at the medical professionals.
“Being a GP is the easiest job in the world,” he said. “You look at a patient’s something, if there’s anything out of the ordinary, you send them on to someone else. You guys are essentially the receptionists of the medical world.”
Almost immediately the girls were invited on to another nightspot. They happily accepted the doctors’ invitation.
