_I have always been a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac. I always thought it was a little unfair that the band didn’t get more recognition. Every time I mention their name people look at me a little bewildered, but if a random Fleetwood Mac song comes on the radio, they know every word. The band came out here on a reunion tour last year and I caught Mick Fleetwood at a bar after the show. I bought him a drink and sat down for a chat:
“How do you write so many amazing songs?” I asked.
“You know, I have never been asked that,” he said. “Everyone tells me my songs great and that I am fantastic, but no one has ever asked how I write my songs.”
“Really?”
“Can you keep a secret?” he asked.
“Sure,” I lied.
“In 1967 I accidentally stumbled ten years into the future. I was only there about three weeks but in that time I had heard an amazing new wave of music. I was overwhelmed by the experience and set about noting what I heard. The other members of the band came across what I had written and there was nothing I could do except go along with it. If someone found out I had travelled into the future the government would interrogate me and I would probably be locked away in an institution.”
“That’s a good point,” I agreed, and finished my drink.
