__My whole life’s had this kind of déjà vu feel to it. I don’t remember every little thing but the odour and the atmosphere of most situations is somehow familiar. I heard the term déjà vu when I was about 4; I wasn’t all that bright but I understood its meaning immediately. I couldn’t believe English lacked a translation – I still can’t. I real sympathised with Bill Murray in ‘Groundhog Day;’ I couldn’t believe my family was laughing – the man was in distress. I tried to explain these feelings to my parents; I said, ‘I know I get the ‘b’ and the ‘d’ mixed up but we’ve been through this before.’ They just thought I was strange. None of it made sense until my 23rd Birthday. A friend bought me a little device that apparently sends you back to the beginning of your life; it was just a joke present because he knew I was paranoid. It was pretty obvious: I’d used the device 23 years prior and had just relived all the events of my life.
How many times had I repeated these years before my realisation?
